The first books of the baby
The babies like books. To enjoy it, you could watch the book together. Put your baby in your lap then hold it and show the baby each page slowly. At the same time talk the baby about each picture or photo. Stop as soon as it becomes restive - the time of concentration of the baby is very small.
Tips for choosing the right book
The little stranger can not see very well, but it would really interested to see faces and well outlined images. Look for books with black and white background with black and white illustrations.
The 3-4 months babies can see more clearly. Books which have a large illustration on each page will be most appropriate for that age. The baby will enjoy the book and will test by touching every page.
After sixth month you can give it books made by strong cardboard or plastic but look for those one that are small enough for your baby to be able to keep the booklet alone as you. Of course choose clear and well motley pictures.
Look for pictures which could be interesting for the baby - pictures of other babies, toys and animals; you can read simple poetry for children or you could look at pictures or photos with already known and used skills such as feeding and bathing.
Before you start to "read" books with your baby, make sure it is not tired, hungry or non happy.
